Fed funds are raising at alarm rate which will lead us to massive or hyper inflation once economy gets to normal with supply demand chain going on. Its pause for moment right now as every body is trying to sell at current markets or when market rallies.

I see inflationary in these in coming years:
1.Commodities.
2.Metas.
3. Utilities.
4. Govt taxes (though Obama govt doesn't raise taxes for income over 250k we have to pay inflationary taxes from our pocket which will pinch us during this deflationary period with decreasing incomes).

Are we looking fed interest rate to 0% any time in US history ? hope we might get a chance to witness that too along with the Great Depression.

Initial Relief Rally, Now Defensive Play

Current markets looks to me is more of a defensive play as its losing its steam for upside, Initially we had rally after the big drop but that was just relief rally and market tape looks harder and harder to read. Now lets take a look at major indices with possible scenarios for the markets:

Standard and Poor's 500:
1.Range bound (1050-850)
2.Test lows around 850's.
3. Breaking 840's will be huge downward movement for another leg down which will take this economy to depression levels which i don't see for now, And it might happen in coming Q's depending on economy with levels around 650's)



and i'm seeing similar kinda of action with other two indices.

NASDAQ Composite
1.Range bound (1900-1450, resistance around 9500 and gap created around 1900 levels and that needs to fill before we move for any upside)
2.Test lows around 1500.
3. Breaking 1450 will be huge downward movement.)



Dow Jones Industrial Average:
1.Range bound (Lower 8k to mid 9k, resistance around 9500 and gap created around 10k needs to fill before we move for any upside)
2.Test lows around 7800-8100 and bounce with decent buyers.
3. Breaking 7800 will be huge downward movement for another 1000 points.)



In my next blog i will try to discuss about the dollar, oil, gold and also vix indices as there is more and more fear factor in the markets and the levels are being at higher bands all the time during entire crisis which shows that most the volumes we are seeing is not just buy and hold but they are either swing or day trading.

Are banks on verge of Failure ?

The key bank index- philly broke all time new lows today. Lehman brothers wachovia are the most active investment banking stocks traded with 4x volume with price down. Lehman looks like it caught the Bear stearns disease.

According to one of the firm RBC Capital they are expecting around 150 + banks will fail by year 2010.

Market Updates

The fear factor in the markets has rose more than +10% in a day which definitely shows there is weakness in markets and showing some sign of weak economic indications.Lets look at the jobs no this Friday which will tell us the whole story of the sell off.


Most distress sector so far are housing and financials. Today S&P has downgraded 3 big investment banks Lehman, Morgan Stanley and Merill. I see $23-24 key support levels on financials and $16-17 on housing.If they lose the support around that area we can see fear rising in the markets.





Oil is showing more signs of bullish but it needs to consolidate at this level for any rally as the indicators are showing over bought on weekly time frames, And I'm hoping this will rally to $150 if it consolidates at this levels for few weeks here or pull back and bounce around $120. But at the same time it has to stay bounce strongly @ $120 for pull back rally.


Street tracking the gold is over sold at this levels and may be its time for the metals play.



All the key indices are showing more and more weakness as we clearly see the over head resistance and are over bought in longer term with more than +15% from Jan/Mar lows as we had enough correction for this bear market and we can clearly say after todays action the markets tested 10 day weekly prices which is not a good sign. Look into the markets the past week was window dressing with the month end profit taking with last friday of the month and coming on first monday of the month sell off which is unsual and definitley we see more downside in the markets, this is my idea about the markets and will post back few multi year breakout in energy sector.

where are the key level? I dont know about the support but i would say these are the level of resistance on the indices:
S&P 500 - 1388 - 1400
Dow Jones - 12708.87 - 13000

Fed Nirvana !!!

As we all expectin fed interest rate cut was reflex bounce, And was not for real but a range bound action on Major Indices. Reaching 1400-1420 was key level to break over head resistance on S&P500, And is it prone to failure ? or break the resistance with past 2 days of price/volume distribution. Technical stand point it looks like we are going to retest the January lows 1270 thesis, And I'm not going to arguing if it does heads to Jan lows which is almost 10% from the current levels then i would say buckle up guys for a roller coaster ride before it takes a U turn for medium to long term rally. So first we are going South before we go for any rally.I would say bears are in control of markets after y'day's low volume with another big higher volume pull back after a disappointment of ISM services this morning.

Fed has lost his credibility towards overall economy but its good for the stock markets by cuts the interest rates.By the way, look at the 10 years bond markets at 3.73 and the fed cutting interest rate at 3.00, Is fed below the curve? Anyway, it looks like we are heading with higher inflation with combination of slower economic growth.

Tradin Bottom !!!

Finally it looks like the tradin has bottomed with wild swing of 600 odd points on Dow on a intra day for reversal to happen. I feel comfortable lookin indices in green color for the first time in this year postin 1% gain on them.

Bulls are back from main to wall st and i hope this rally continues in a range bound for S&P500 1350-1450.Are shorts fellin the pain ????
